Rebecca Camilleri & Nicola Rayworth

Sharing Spaces:There is no space between

We are Rebecca Camilleri ( Malta) and NicolaRayworth (UK). Both trained at Dartington College of Arts, UK, an institution which focused on multi-disciplinary and performance approaches and also participated in a three month dance programme at UDK, Berlin. In these three years, we collaborated on various site-specific and performance projects. After graduating, we each returned to our home countries and have worked separately on our own projects. During this physical separation between 2011- 2012, we have kept in communication, sharing ideas, processes, projects and of course our personal stories, adventures and disasters. This separation was vital for the development of our own artistic practice; working in collaboration with other artists, developing community projects and working as dance educators. In February 2013, we have reunited to form an artist twin - an artistic relationship between two islanders who seek to explore different cultural grounds to construct a vocabulary that breaks boundaries of time, space, colour, language and tradition.
